3D-Printed Water Filtration Caps : Filter Caps

The Filter Caps have been created in partnership between Filsa Water and Oglivy, Baylor International and the Columbian Red Cross to combat the occurrence of potable water shortages.

The device maintains a 3D-printed construction made out of corn starch that will fit onto most plastic bottles found around the world. The filter features a multi-stage filtration process that will increase the pH level of the water, remove 90% of heavy metals and reduce impurities by 70%. The water filtration cap is being used in Columbia to combat the effects of drought and provide potable water to those without any other means of access.

The Filter Caps weigh in at 24-grams and can thus be easily shipped to remote locations.
