Italian artist and intellectual Piero Fornasetti is being honoured in a new exhibition at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the first of its kind. Curated by Barnaba Fornasetti, Piero’s son, the exhibition will explore the artist’s prolific works.
A painter, designer, collector, gallery owner, and curator, Fornasetti produced an extraordinary 13,000 artworks during his long and fruitful life. This exhibition pays tribute both to Fornasetti the man, as well as his broad oeuvre, beginning with the artist’s books, including his mid-century collaboration with Giò Ponti, and his later interest in architecture and design. Containing over 700 works, this sweeping exhibition provides a fascinating look into a creative and tempestuous personality.
The exhibition runs until February 6, 2014 at Triennale Design Museum in Milan at 6, Viale Alemagna
