The newest addition to the line-up of sports car that will make their debut in the New Year is the swanky third generation Audi TT. This one aims to bridge the gap between its current rival, the Porsche Boxster, with its lighter, sportier features.

Better Than Its Predecessors

Audi has decided use a better quantity of aluminium for the bodywork of the new TT in order to make it 60kg lighter. The model, developed by Volkswagen is expected to be built on the MQB platform, one which is already present in the Audi A3. These features will make the car not only light-weight, but also improve performance and fuel efficiency. An Audi TT convertible is likely to follow the launch of this one. Happy days!

According to Automobile Magazine, the car marquee announced that it will spend about $30 million between now and 2018 to expand its dealer network and develop new products. By 2020, Audi plans to invest heavily in the expansion of the Audi lineup from 49 to 60 models.

The much anticipated Audi TT might be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014. We’re waiting.
