Paris is a popular place to spend New Years Eve: 6 of the best views of Paris

Lorre White, The Guru of Luxury –

The Eiffel Tower is often the first thing that comes to mind when people think of the best views of Paris. If you are looking for something different and unusual without the touristy crowds, we’ve got you covered! Here are five of the best views of Paris away from much of the hustle and bustle of the usual tourist hotspots.

Printemps

Not only is Printemps one of the premier department stores in the city, but it also has a terrace with a great view of Paris. From here you can see the Eiffel Tower, the Pantheon, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Sacré Coeur all while enjoying a cup of coffee. For the best pictures, be sure to visit when the store first opens, or later in the afternoon.

Kong Restaurant

Offering French-Asian fusion cuisine, great atmosphere and an even better view, Kong is a must-visit restaurant. Seated in the modernly designed main dining area you will see stunning views of the city through the glass roof and windows while enjoying great food. If it was good enough for Carrie Bradshaw, it’s good enough for us!

Ballon de Paris

Ever wondered what a bird’s eye view of Paris would look like? You know, other than the one that you get at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Located next to the Seine in Parc André Citrön is Ballon de Paris, a tethered hot air balloon that will take you up about 492 feet, to get the perfect view of the city! FYI: The balloon does not go up in inclement weather so it is always a good idea to call ahead to make sure that the balloon is operating that day.

Montmartre

What is Paris without Montmartre? The history and the beauty only add to the magic of the city. While this spot is no secret, it is one of our favorite places to visit. Great atmosphere, stunning buildings, and of course a beautiful view of the City of Light. The street performers add the perfect touch of city and culture.

Centre Pompidou

Centre Pompidou is one of our favorite museums simply because it is constructed inside out! It also helps that there is a spectacular view of the city from the rooftop. After walking through the museum, head to Georges Restaurant on the top floor and enjoy a panoramic view like no other. The restaurant offers great views of city rooftops, the Eiffel Tower, Montmarte and Notre Dame, along with unique décor and to die for food from the restaurants fusion-cuisine menu. Call ahead for reservations, or you may just miss out. But don’t fret, the rooftop is always available for that perfect photo-op.

Institute du Monde Arabe

With a large portion of the city having Arab roots, it is only natural that there is a museum that celebrates Arab culture and attempts to bring more awareness to the general public. A wonderful example of modern architecture, this museum is not to be missed. And then of course, the view! With stunning shots of Notre Dame and some of Paris’ other famed sites, there is no reason why the Institute du Monde Arabe shouldn’t make your itinerary. The best part about the scene from the top is that it is absolutely free if you skip the museum!
