Maserati Boomerang; The Car of the Future was Created in 1971

Rare Delights Magazine –

Introducing the car of the future, the Maserati Boomerang.  Look upon this beautiful creation and know that this was what we were all supposed to be driving right around right now.  If this car would’ve came out in 2010, it would’ve been awesome.  But no, this car was designed and built in 1971!  What?  How is that even possible?  In the 70’s, did we really think we’d be driving around in cars that looked like a 2015 honda civic?  It seems as though the route that we all thought we would be heading down in the ‘future’ is not actually happening, and that’s sad.  I mean, look how awesome this car is.

The Maserati Boomerang was only a concept, and wasn’t fully functional when it was first debuted at the 1971 Turin Motor Show.  Updated the next year however, the Boomerang was fitted with a 300+ hp V8 engine with a top speed of 186 mph.  The contours of this car, and the shapes of its windows make it a very interesting vehicle, one that, at first glance may seem fairly dangerous, but at second glance is just really badass.  Good luck getting your hands on one of these though, as there were very few of them made.
