VR/AR has always been the next frontier for any tech company but no one has been able to crack the code to bring this technology into the mainstream. Apple hopes to change that with Vision Pro, a new AR headset that could significantly change the way we all consume content. The headset can display virtual screens for both productivity and entertainment whether that means you need multiple screens for work or one giant immersive screen for movies or games.
The new MacBook Air now comes with a 15.3″ display while maintaining the ultra-thin and lightweight qualities of the Air lineup. The laptop comes in at just 11.5mm thick and is the thinnest 15″ laptop in the world. It also weighs just 3.3 lbs and packs an M2 processor, a six-speaker audio system with force cancelling woofers, 18 hours of battery life, and a 1080p camera with a 3-mic array.
On the pro side, Apple announced a new M2-powered Mac Studio and an M2-powered Mac Pro. The new Mac Studio can now be equipped with the flagship M2 Ultra processor and it also has higher bandwidth HDMI that supports up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates, support for up to six Pro Display XDRs, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and all the I/O you could possibly want.
The Mac Pro finally gets updated with Apple Silicon, fully transitioning the lineup to their in-house processors. You can get a Mac Pro with the most powerful M2 chips, up to 192GB of memory with 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, and you have six open PCIe gen 4 slots for any expansion needs.
Apple Vision Pro will be released in the US early next year for $3,499 while the new MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro arrive next week.
