Clae's latest shoes are made out of apple waste from the juice industry

Clae

Clae is expanding its vegan-friendly shoe options with a new capsule collection that is made out of Appleskin. Appleskin is an alternative “leather” that uses apple waste from the juice industry in Italy to create a leather-like, bio-based material that’s ideal for footwear construction. Available in an off white or all-black finish, the material is available on the popular Bradley, Malone, and Joshua (above) silhouettes. Complementing the use of Appleskin is an array of eco-friendly materials that include GRS-certified recycled mesh, laces, foam insoles, and GOTS-certified organic cotton lining.
