Davidoff pays tribute to time and its inextricable connections with the movement of the stars and planets. The black dial of the Velocity Gent Automatic Moonphase gives pride of place to a silvery moon that travels across a mat black disc at 6 o’clock. In contrast, Roman numerals three and nine stretch endlessly across the dial as though plunging into the night. The day and month are given in two windows at 12 o’clock while the date is displayed by a central hand, following the waxing and waning of the moon at 6 o’ clock. These different complications are driven by the DD9000 automatic movement. Proposed in steel or in red gold with alternating mat and polished finishes, this timepiece is exemplary of Davidoff’s expertise.
