Building on their successful collaboration, boat manufacturer Tyde has once again partnered with BMW’s Designworks studio, a subsidiary of the
“With The Icon, we have shown how elegant and luxurious sustainable mobility on the water can be,” comments Christoph Ballin, co-founder and managing director of Tyde. “The continuation of the cooperation with BMW is now fuelling the launch into another segment. The new model brings future-orientated mobility to the day yacht segment.”
Equipped with hydrofoils inspired by racing yachts, The Open effortlessly cuts through the water, significantly reducing drag, wake, and emissions, achieving an energy efficiency of up to 80%, according to the designers.
With a generous 400 kWh battery capacity and powered by two 100 kW electric engines, The Open achieves a top speed of 30 knots while maintaining a comfortable cruising speed of 25 knots, allowing it to cover a range of 50 nautical miles at this pace.
Regarding its features, The Open provides what the team describes as “all the amenities synonymous with a luxury day yacht.”
