If you’re a hardcore Star Wars fan, you might want to have a look at Propstore’s upcoming sale in which more than 1,400 items from over 500 movies and TV shows will go under the hammer. One of the notable items that will be up for grabs is Princess Leia’s ceremonial dress costume from “: A New Hope” which was once thought to be lost. The screen-and-photo matched dress was worn by Carrie Fisher in the 1977 sci-fi classic’s medal presentation scene inside the rebel base on Yavin IV after Luke Skywalker blows up the Death Star with his trusty X-wing starfighter. The outfit is a highly desirable collectors’ item and is estimated to sell anywhere between $1 to $2 million at the auction.
The Propstore auction will be held between June 28 and June 30 with in-person bidding at The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California, and the event will be streamed live. Other important movie memorabilia that will exchange hands at the auction include Christian Bale’s Batman Batpod from The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, Daniel Radcliffe’s robes from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and the Star-Lord Helmet from the 2014 movie Guardians of the Galaxy. The company expects total bids to exceed $12 million. A special preview exhibition of various items will also be held at Propstore’s office facility in California by appointment only from May 29 to June 20.
