Hublot Introduces the $171,000 MP-11 Water Blue Sapphire Watch

Hublot caused a sensation in 2016 with their groundbreaking sapphire Big Bang. Now, the Swiss watchmaker returns with another stunning feat of engineering: the MP-11 Water Blue sapphire. Crafted with meticulous care, the sapphire crystal case, measuring 45mm in diameter and 14.4mm thick, showcases flawless hand-polishing and offers water resistance up to 30m. Additionally, the caseback is crafted from water blue sapphire crystal, with a section treated to reduce reflections and enhance clarity. The latest iteration of the Big Bang MP-11 features a polished water blue crystal bezel, securely fastened with six H-shaped titanium screws.
The dial features the time display at 12 o’clock, while seven barrels horizontally placed across the lower half of the dial enable the watch to achieve its remarkable 14-day power reserve, necessitating a slightly domed sapphire crystal covering to accommodate them above the movement. At eight o’clock, a power reserve indicator shaped like a wheel marks the end of the barrel stack, completing a full rotation every two weeks.
