Unconventional Occasional Tables by Ctrlzak
Now produced by Italy’s Biosofa and available in two different finishes, The D/Zen tables have a design based upon a Zen philosophy regarding the search for spirituality and balance.
Each is handcrafted of birch and bamboo and supported by a single leg hand-forged to look like a wooden stick. Available in a natural (or dark brown) finish, the top and the base of each piece are clad in mirror-polished reflective steel (or brass).
The Coffee Table
This coffee table is inspired by a mountain near a Buddhist temple where tiny sticks were placed underneath massive boulders, appearing to support them while being too small to bear the stone’s weight. This concept is transformed into this table defined by a tilted, mirrored structure, reminding us that everything is temporary.
