The multi-storey GINZA SIX shopping centre in Tokyo‘s Ginza district has seen a wave of new store openings and shop renewals. One the new openings at this highly prestigious shopping centre is MM6, the women’s diffusion line of Maison Margiela.
Occupying a 82 sqm. (883 sq.ft.) unit, and flanked by the boutiques of Off-White and AMBUSH, the store sees an entirely new look created by Maison Margiela‘s in-house design team in Paris. Inspired by the ‘ready-when-worn’ fashion philosophy, the brand’s quirky approach to ready-to-wear, the premises boast a minimalist setting captured in black and white.
A special black paint has been used which covers all kinds of surfaces, including flooring, displays and the decorative floor-to-ceiling transparent tubes which have been used as a decorative backdrop and to demarcate part of the store. The new MM6 store carries the full range of women’s apparel, accessories, bags, small leather goods and shoes.
