The Kia Tasman is the brand's first-ever pickup truck

Kia has unveiled its first-ever pickup truck with the reveal of the Tasman. The midsize truck has much more of a utilitarian look than what we’re used to from the brand, styling that certainly stands out from the rest of its competitors in the segment.

Designed for both work and play, the truck comes in Single Cab and Double Cab configurations with a spacious bed that is almost 60 inches long, a cargo capacity of 41 cubic feet, a maximum payload capacity of 2,634 lbs (in 2WD), and a towing capacity of 7,716 lbs.

Inside is just about what you would expect from a modern Kia with features like panoramic widescreen technology, optional eight-speaker Harmon Kardon audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and five different interior trim options.

Two engine options will be available at launch: a 2.2L diesel engine that produces 207 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque and a turbocharged gas engine that produces 277 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The diesel will be offered with a choice of a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic and the gas model will come with the automatic transmission standard.

As of now, the Tasman will only be available in Korea, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.
