Swedish lifestyle audio brand, Urbanista, have created the world’s first self-charging solar powered, wireless active noise cancelling earphones powered by Powerfoyle™ solar cell material.
It was a matter of time before solar charging headphones launched onto the market, providing endless playtime. Following a successful partnership with Exeger, the Urbanista Phoenix were born, providing a continuous charge when exposed to all forms of outdoor or indoor light, meaning that the earphones will provide endless playtime when placed back in their case for charging and continuously exposed to light.
Having had a play, we ran down the headphone battery to nothing, then tested the solar charge, which is achieved by placing the case in the sun – the brighter, the quicker they charge. The process was slow, but absolutely worked, so as long as you are not in a hurry, these are incredible. You can also plug the case into the mains for a super fast charge of course!
The earphones are super comfy and the sound quality is definitely up there, with plenty of sound range on offer. They also last 8 hours with a total battery reserve of 34 hours. They are available in Midnight Black (black) and Desert Rose (beige pink), and priced at £139, which feels very fair for what you get.
