Stripped Raw, a veteran-founded organization dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention, has launched an initiative to provide 1,000 free ‘You Matter Boxes’ to veterans and their families in Virginia. Funded by a grant from the Virginia Department of Veteran Services, this program aims to offer meaningful support to those struggling with emotional difficulties.
The ‘You Matter Box’ is a care package containing tools for emotional resilience and connection, designed to serve as a tangible reminder for veterans that they are cared for, especially during tough times. In addition to the boxes, Stripped Raw offers a range of free services, such as one-on-one peer coaching, group coaching, a self-paced online program, and a podcast platform where veterans can share their stories and seek guidance. These services are designed to foster a supportive, stigma-free environment where veterans and their families can connect with others who understand their experiences.
